My mother used to stuff them with sauteed onion rings and tomatoes with turmeric, a few thin slices of green chilis, a little salt and red chili powder. The pomfrets tasted heavenly. Your recipe too seems great. I’ll have it tried out as soon as I am able to lay my hands on medium-sized pomfrets which, unfortunately, are very rarely seen in the fish market in Jaipur.
Thanks Arun. I’m sure your mum’s recipes were delicious. I hope you’ve been able to get the pomfrets by now and have tried out my recipe.
Hi Bridget,
No luck yet. We only get mackerels and over-priced kingfish here. Prawns are a rarity and pomfrets are never seen in the fish market here. However, I’ll keep trying.
Regards,
Arun
